This letter is to recommend Doreen Pendleton as an interior design consultant.  With her help, we have completed the redecoration of three rooms in our Victorian home, jobs that included the selection of wallpaper, fabrics for upholstery, window treatments, and paint colors.  My husband and I are thrilled with the results in all three rooms (a dining room, a library, and a bedroom) and would use her again without hesitation. 

I think the quality I appreciate most about Doreen is her ability to be flexible and to adapt to a client's taste, which may not be her own.  Rather than push her own agenda, she is able to listen to the client's likes and dislikes and tailor the suggestions she presents to those preferences.  Our vision became her vision, and she worked doggedly until it was achieved and we could say, "That's it!"  When we were stuck not knowing how to achieve a particular effect, she was always able to use her creativity to offer a variety of solutions. 

The work performed in all three rooms is of the highest standard.  She is not satisfied with anything less than perfection.  Furthermore, the work was done in a timely manner, with consideration given to our schedule. 

She and her husband, Jim, are friendly, helpful, and easy to work with--delightful, really.  It was clear to us that our satisfaction was their goal, and they did everything necessary to accomplish it.  Doreen's cheerful and professional approach to every aspect of a job is a welcome counterpoint to the chaos and stress that sometime accompany any redecorating project.  We knew we were in capable hands from the start, and our trust was not misplaced.           P.Nugent

I first met Doreen about 15 years ago (1988) when I was redecorating my home.  I'd always done everything myself and at first I was a little worried about having someone else do this for me.  However, that worry was soon put to rest.  Doreen and I discussed my likes and dislikes and the style I would like for my home.  She made me feel quite at ease.  When she came back with wallpaper books and fabric samples she really listened to what I wanted.  She did the bedrooms, baths, living room, kitchen, playroom and sunroom.

In all the rooms she installed wood blinds of walnut stain to match the woodwork.  In the bedrooms she made the drapes and bedspreads that matched the wallpaper we chose. In the bathrooms, she made the window drapes and matching shower curtain to match the new wallpaper. In the living room we selected wallpaper, she made swags and cascades for the picture window and chose fabric to reupholster the sofa and wingback chairs. In the kitchen, she used wallpaper with coordinating fabric for a valance and inserted the same fabric into the vanes for the vertical blind for our large sliding door.
